The South Island Agricultural Field Days (SIAFD) were bigger than ever this year and our Onfarm Data stand was busy showcasing the innovative ways we help farmers with monitoring and control of their irrigation, effluent, and fertigation.
Our CEO, Andrew Neill, is buoyant.
“It was a great 3 days. Very encouraging. We had interest right across our product range. Cropping, dairy, sheep and beef, horticulture, and even vineyards. We talked with a lot of our existing clients but also many potential new ones”.
There are a lot of differences between farms. There is no ‘one size fits all solution’ - There is no such thing. Every operation has a management style, an individuality, a nuance, that makes adopting technology specific to them. “With our different technology options, we can create a turnkey solution. “We have the products and the solutions that farmers want” Andrew says. “Our technical specialists know their stuff, from their understanding of the varied farming systems to developing the solutions”.
Technology has never been more relevant for agriculture. Agri-tech is something you can’t avoid these days. The strength of these technologies goes well beyond the farm gate. The benefits of Onfarm Data’s system go beyond the obvious water savings and remaining compliant. These systems provide the evidence to global food markets and the general public that the NZ Ag-sector is truly world class in every way.
When asked if there was a common theme from visitors to the Onfarm Data stand, Andrew replied. “Talking to farmers and growers at Kirwee, my take was simple - people want to see more realised value from their technology investment. Make my life easier – Not harder!”.
“The Kirwee Field Days have been great for us, lots of interest, lots of contacts, lots of work to do. Let’s hope Mystery Creek is a goer.”
